Born of a desire to provide natural and organic baby skin care as well as environmentally-friendly baby clothing and accessories for her own firstborn almost two decades ago, Catherine developed the Aromababy concept which would set the standard for many baby goods world-wide and most importantly, natural, organic-rich baby skin care.
A leader in her field and having been involved in the product development of bodycare for several leading Australian retailers for some years prior to the launch of AROMABABY®, Catherine personally handpicked pure, natural and organic ingredients for their therapeutic properties and efficacy, enhancing the benefits of these unique products beyond any others.
Catherine holds a diploma in Aromatherapy and massage, has trained as an Infant Massage Instructor and has been working in the area of product development of skin care products for over twenty years with the past nineteen of these at the helm of her own enterprise. Despite the arrival and failure of countless copy-cat type brands worldwide, AROMABABY® to this day remains in a class all its own.
Catherine, a mother of 2 boys, has enjoyed a keen and active interest in health and natural therapies for more than 20 years. She is the author of numerous published articles on baby care and related topics in Asia, USA, UK and Australia. She is a regular contributor to a number of both professional and consumer publications. She is a respected speaker on the topic of natural babycare and baby massage and her work has been presented at various midwifery conferences.
Catherine’s business has been nominated for numerous awards in both Australia and overseas including My Business Awards, Micro Business Awards and the Gift Awards. She has received many nominations for the Telstra Business Women’s Awards over recent years, received a Highly Commended (Export) and received a Highly Commended status in past Australian Achiever Awards. “Being nominated is an absolute honour” says Catherine, “it’s making time to prepare entries that I find most difficult. I am so busy building the business it is near impossible to enter all of the awards we are nominated for”, she concludes. AROMABABY® achieved a Highly Commended Award in the Export Entrepreneur of the Year division of the My Business Awards recently and has won Iparenting Media Awards in USA for several products.
Whilst ‘organic’ and ‘natural’ have become the latest buzz words in the skincare industry, Aromababy was developed more than 10 years ago, well ahead of its time. “Not much has changed for us” Catherine says. “We have always used organic ingredients although ten or twelve years ago it was difficult to easily source certified organic ingredients. We opted for agreements with Suppliers that ensured our natural oils and other ingredients were grown without pesticides and herbicides. These days more farmers are having their crops Certified Organic to meet growing demands, which ensures their produce is more readily available to manufactures like us” she says. “No Aromababy finished product has been tested on animals and more importantly, we choose not to use ingredients that have been tested on animals.” AROMABABY® has a few years back with Cruelty Free Australia.
“As responsible manufacturers, we respect research and have identified the need to offer both our customers and those health professionals using AROMABABY® products, a choice in baby care. In addition to our therapeutic-grade aromatic product, we therefore uniquely also provide simple, aroma-free™ product, essential for Baby’s first few weeks of life where studies have shown bland, unscented product or simply water to be best. It is only in select AROMABABY® product, therefore, that pure essential oils have been specifically chosen and blended synergistically not only for their therapeutic properties, but also to delight the senses and soothe the soul” explains Catherine.

At Aromababy we are aware of the need to minimise the world’s waste and we therefore aim to avoid the use of senseless packaging. We use recyclable and/or recycled materials (including PET and glass for our skincare) wherever possible and encourage our customers to reuse and recycle. The end result is a range of pure products that are kind to the skin as well as to our environment.
